Thank you for addressing any remark or suggestion to Paul

to study at ENSEIRB. Some confidential pages can only be accessed locally
(through ENSEIRB intranet).

Admission rules
Most of the foreign students studying at ENSEIRB come through the Socrates/Erasmus
scheme, or other agreements with foreign schools outside Europe. Socrates/Erasmus
students are strongly encouraged to apply
by e-mail only, whereas other applicants may be required to fill paper
forms, at some stage of their application.
For students who wish to register as a regular ENSEIRB student (not
through the Erasmus/Socrates scheme), there is a procedure called "admission
sur titres" which is documented in ENSEIRB general
admission rules: as a complement to these rules, we provide "admission
sur titres" application forms on line.

Socrates/Erasmus,
Polymtl, CREPUQ, or other exchange program applications
For Socrates or other exchange program students, the simplest and most
efficient way of applying to ENSEIRB is by e-mail, but paper or fax applications
are also acceptable (although not recommended).
-
As a first step, please have your international office or Socrates departmental
coordinator send us an initial email
announcing your application;
-
As a second step, fill and e-mail your application
forms to our international office Secretary
with cc to our international office Director.
It is good to supply a curriculum vitae (résumé), and a letter
of motivation (which may just be the contents of your e-mail), especially
for lab project application; for a program of studies, you will need to
check our course catalogue in order to fill your
learning agreement by selecting modules: note that our modules may be referenced
using appropriate web addresses, which may be convenient for subsequent
e-mail discussions with your home tutor and our coordinators at ENSEIRB;
-
As a third step, you (the student) will receive our acknowledgement of
your application, with cc to your international office, and our own office.
You will be told to directly communicate with the relevant ENSEIRB departmental
coordinator, in order to check your learning agreement, or define your
lab project (and find a lab project supervisor).
Should you need any help for housing,
please write to our international office Secretary
as early as possible.
Note that you may find valuable practical information regarding what
you need to take with you (money, passport, photos, papers for registration
and scolarity services) and cost of living on general
admission rules ENSEIRB page. The international office itself will
not require any paper from you.

MASTER'S
DEGREE
ENSEIRB MASTER ès SCIENCES
has become obsolete since August 31, 2003. It has been replaced with a
"two year" program leading to the national
DIPLÔME D'INGENIEUR
GRADE DE MASTAIRE - MASTER'S DEGREE
Applicants for a MASTER'S DEGREE at ENSEIRB are hence invited to apply
for "admission sur titres en deuxième
année".

PhD, Postdoc
ENSEIRB is associated with research laboratories.
To enquire about PhD or postdoc studies, in one of these labs, you can
look at the websites to determine which research team(s) would best fit
your interests. If you wish, you can write us and ask us to publish your
application on ENSEIRB
applicants news group (which is available to all ENSEIRB people only).
This application should include at least:
-
a letter of motivation;
-
your résumé (curriculum-vitae);
-
a statement of your research interests, and which lab and lab research
teams or people you would like to work with;
-
when you would like to start.
We shall notify our three international department coordinators,
so that they can forward your application to the relevant lab(s) and/or
research team(s) (who don't have direct access to ENSEIRB
applicants news group), but you are strongly
advised to get in touch with them directly, in order to eventually
come up with a PhD or postdoc project. Actual registration is handled by
the doctoral school of the lab (please look at
each lab website and/or ask international department
coordinator for exact registration procedure): of course,
for a PhD, you need to find a supervisor willing to be your thesis director
first.
Note that the system has recently changed: "DEA" has been replaced with
a "specialization master" (same duration of one year including courses
and research project); then the PhD usually takes three years. It is often
a good idea to do a "specialization master" before enrolling in a PhD,
as it gives you the opportunity to meet potential PhD supervisors, but
it is not always required, for students who can convince a PhD supervisor
that they already have the appropriate level.

available to our foreign students, for about 111 euros/month. Please contact
our international office secretary if you wish to
apply for such a room.
For a long stay, you may wish to apply for state money through http://www.gironde.caf.fr/Al.htm,
local CAF antenna. This will cover part
of your rent, but be prepared to do a fair amount of paper work!
